English education in schools is very common in Ankara. When you live in Ankara, school is free for children between the ages of six and eighteen, with a choice of state facilities.

  • Weather in Ankara

    Ankara is located 850 m high from the sea and 270 km far from the nearest coast. Ankara has a continental climate. Cold and snowy winters are followed by hot and dry summers. Daytime temperatures in August occasionally hit 40°C. July and August are the hottest months with almost zero precipitation while April. Snowfall is common from November to March. Visiting Ankara between November and March calls for a good insulated coat and winter boots. T-shirt and shorts will be sufficient for visitors coming between June and August.

  • Transportation in Ankara

    You can arrive to Ankara Esenboğa Airport by international or domestic flights. Airport shuttle buses can be taken from the airport to reach at multiple locations including Kızılay, Ulus and AŞTİ (the intercity bus station). Ankara Train Station is located in walking distance to Tandoğan and Ulus metro stations. Metro runs through the map here below and Kızılay is the main switching point between lines.
